anyone prescribed citalopram for this ?

i can only tell you that citalopram saved my life, i found it great for anxiety and depression, but it does take time too work

I was prescribed Citalopram 21/2yrs ago for anxiety & depression relating to PTSD. My psychologist recommended taking medication to help me get through a very rough time, I was very reluctant to take it but now understand the benefits it can bring, combined with therapy it has put me back on my feet.

what dose were you on annnete ?

I started on 20mg in April 2009. The normal start is 10mg, my gp wanted me to get the side effects over & done with! I increased dose in June to 30mg, then in October 09 increased again to 40mg to help with therapy.
I'm still on that now & have no side effects except weight gain in the first few months.

I suffer from Agitated Depression, Acute stress disorder and Anxiety , and my current med mirtazipine wasnt working , pyschiatrist prescribed this as an add on , but early days only been taking for 4 days 20 mg dose to start and to be reviewed.

i was diagnosed with ptsd 7 months ago due to an attack i had a t work, i was placed straight on citalopram by the doc and was quickly dosed up to 60 mg to help with my therapy and emdr sessions.. Citalopram is very good but i think its starting to wear off, or i just getting worse god knows where i go from here hmmmm. did u guys know max dose for citalopram is now 40 mg, it was passed back in nov 2011
