View Full Version : Child with anxiety - hiccups?

Before I go any further, as an anxiety sufferer, I'm honestly not looking for anxiety symptoms in my loved ones but am aware that my anxieties could be passed on to my daughter so I have just a very quick question.

I've realised that my daughter (aged 7) gets genuinely very anxious about certain things and has had panic attacks in the past (like when missing the train or the bus etc until I sat with her at the train station and bus stop and let a few go by without getting on them).

She's always suffered with really violent, painful hiccups which cause her a lot of discomfort (not like normal hiccups, she gets these too, but sometimes they are horrendous for her).

I've always put it down to just being one of those things that children get, but could it relate to anxiety? I can honestly say I've never looked for a pattern but has anyone else experienced/noticed this?
