Hi. I have been on Prozac since last Thursday after having spent 4 months on Citalopram. I no longer suffer from depression but can't get my symtoms to go away (throat burning, dry mouth lips, burping, pins and needles). How long does it take on average for Prozac to start working, as I'm in considerable discomfort and would like to get better sooner rather than later.

What is it that you have discomfort with, anxiety/panic or the symptoms you're suffering?

I'm on day 23 and still riding out side effects. Not sure on average as I think everyone is different but they can take anything from 4-12 weeks to work properly.

If you go to the forum under prozac, you will find lot's of post related to this. Like I say though, you'll find lot's of different responses as everyone is different. Keep us posted :

Hi thanks for replying! I'm not suffering from anxiety anymore and my symptoms are not side effects of medication, I had them months before.
