Hi I'm new to the forum, and not quite sure how I found myself here, or quite what I'm looking for..

I'm just short of 50, and have a couple of bad years, but have have lived and managed to hide my anxiety (most of the time) since my early 20's. I don't socialise much..

I've always struggled very badly with social occasions or just doing new stuff in general. I got made redundant just over 2 years ago which just happened to coincide with a very bad kidney infection that bought me to rock bottom. I've been on the verge of a panic attack a fair few times over the years but managed to escape for want of a better word, but had a very bad one that put me in hospital overnight while they checked out my heart.

I've been diagnosed as depressed and been on Citalopram for 18months or so. I've now weaned myself off them and generally feel much better.

My BIG problem is, I've just managed to land myself a little job and even now I can feel the anxiety/panic building. I'm just here to find a little advice to help me either better control it, so it doesn't control me or at least manage it. Any pointers welcome.

Thanks for the welcome, I'm sure I'll ask questions that have been asked a 1000 times before, I'm reading what I can from the forum, but it's pretty big!
