Hi everybody....I've posted about this before and I don't want to be rediculous but I can't talk myself out of this one. I still have the ringing of the ears when I lie down and I don't know anybody who has this at all. It's not that I can't live with it as it is....I'm just curious if anyone else has it and do they know why...is it normal????? any advise would be appreciated.....ps....have seen my doc several times on this and he says it's normal sometimes...what do you guys think??? sorry to post again xx

I get this too, spoke to hearing/balance therapist years ago and he said that it was perfectly normal.

It is called titinnitus (not sure of spelling). I have had it for years. Alcohol can make it much worse so it is better if you don't drink. If you have fibromyalgia it can cause it so can a virus. But, anxiety can also be the culprit if it comes and goes. No harm can come of this so relax, and put some music on to distract you. At night I use an allergy room cleaner that makes a white noise to distract me. It works like a charm.

I have constant tinnitus. I notice it sometimes, sometimes not. It can happen as a result of a head injury (I was in a bad car accident in 2000), but I think I had it before then. It can also be a result of listening to too many loud things without ear protection (too many concerts). It is harmless, basically. William Shatner even has it from all of those loud stunts for Star Trek. He was on a documentary about it some time ago. I wouldn't worry about it.

Take care,
April
