I woke up this morning and my eyeball really hurts when I look up to the left and down towards my right. It really hurts so I'm trying not to move my eye, lol!

My husband says its just muscular, eye strain.

I've had this before in past, just never this bad I don't think.

Has anyone else had this?

Hi I have had this before and it's lasted a couple of days. It's always been when I have just woken up too and all I can think is that some how I have strained but it isn't any thing to worry about. Hope this helps xx

Yeah definitely a strain. It is really painful. I've had it a few times and some times it's agony just looking in a different direction! x

I've had this a few times, for two different reasons - straining the muscles around the eye/s and from having blocked up sinuses from a cold. It felt exactly as you describe, as I looked left/right it hurt like crazy. You can most certainly strain the delicate muscles around the eyeball and it will take a day or so for it to start resolving, just as it would if it were your calf or shoulder muscle. Strain can be from viewing something in a way that you would not usually do, e.g. turning to look behind a lot and really having to strain your eyeballs around to see something.

I've not had a cold so hopefully not sinus related?

I watched Eastenders on my iPhone yesterday for an hour so my husband thinks I've strained my eye somehow but the right eye us totally fine.

It really does throb to move my left eye.

Thanks for your replies. X
