Well I've posted on here a lot about my eyes lately and I'm sorry but I've found another symptom.
I've found that when I close my eyes and kind of "press" on them I can see like, a hole kind of thing that opens up (best way I can describe it) and can see all different colours like yellow and green and then floaters inside of it!
It sounds weird I know, I almost imagine this what some weird "Drug trip" would be like  It was just very very very scary and now I'm 100% convinced I'm going blind with all the floaters I've been having and now that, I did have my eyes tested more than 2 weeks ago and the optician couldn't find anything but I'm sure shes missed something or somethings progressed since then, this can't be just anxiety can it? It just seems so real all these symptoms. I was having a good couple of days where I barely even focused on my symptoms and for some reason I'm back to freaking out about my eyes .
Has anyone else experienced something like this? I just don't get why my eyes are playing up if my they're fine. :( My current thoughts are either a detached retina or a brain tumor.

But its never happened before and I noticed an increase in floaters and went to the opticians to get it checked and she said it was fine but I'm convinced theres something there. I'm pretty close to asking my Mum to take me to A&E, I don't think I can stand this for a minute longer.

Well I just tried it and I get all these colours and all sorts. I am sure you are not supposed to press your eyes like that though

I imagine pressing your eyes in such a way won't be helping them.

I had a bit of a headache so I for some reason thought that would help lol. I am desparate to go to A&E though just to get it looked at so I can actually relax, just doesn't seem normal I've got floaters in my field of vision no matter what I look at

I get floaters when I am tired or run down.

I used to work with a guy that got them all the time as well and he had loads of tests and checks and they went in time when he stopped worrying so much about them.

I don't think it warrants a trip to A&E when you have already seen an optician though.

But you know A/E won't help, it's your anxiety playing tricks :) Try and relax.

Take care :hugs:

Maybe you need to get some help for the HA rather than seeking help constantly for the things that you think are life threatening.

Have you seen your GP and had any CBT for example.

floaters are tiny scratches on the surface of your eyes i believe, which is why they dash off when you look at them :P dont think youve any reason to worry xx

Thats what my optician said too lol they wouldnt bother me if i didnt get them in the dark thats whats been scaring me but had my eyes checked when it started and my optician couldnt find anything but im convinced i have a detached retina or a brain tumor even though i had a rretinal photo taken which looked healthy grr i hate HA

When you press on your eyes you put pressure on your optic nerve and that is what is causing your seeing of colors. You mention you have a headache and this may be from stress and tense muscles or from sinus pressure or from a migraine. All of these can have some type of visual disturbances associated with them. I really hope this helps and please try and relax. Take care

Please try and relax. I know all too well how hard it is but please try. The floaters are harmless. I have had them since I was in my early 20's (long time ago). Have you tried yoga or cardio exercise? This seems to help me break out of the anxiety downward spiral. It is not a cure-all but it does help. A funny movie or a long talk with a good friend where you don't talk about symptoms seems to help too. I just don't have a lot of friends but if you do then give someone a call. Good luck and take care, I know you will be fine.

Hi Holly,

Firstly - pressing your eyes when closed and seeing colours - perfectly normal. :) I used to do it all the time as a kid and see how 'far' I could 'venture' with it - colours, then turning black, then as if a galaxy of stars unfolding before you..yup, no problems.

Now the 'floaters' thing [pardon me a snigger for a moment, the term has a very different meaning...!:D] I have had before and think I know what you mean. It's been checked over as you say - and nothing bad. It could be sleep related mind.

Haha yeah the term floaters makes me giggle a bit too:blush: but i have been referred to a specialist to get my eyes seen to properly to put my mind at ease just so convinced theres something wrong these black floaters make no sense they just appeared suddenly
