Sorry if this is TMI.

The last 3 times i have had blood on my stool i have noticed a pattern, it's always a really big passing then soft/diarrheay at the end with blood then they is blood there all the time if i pass a little bit more.

The blood is not a bright red but looks pretty fresh, so it really has to be coming from my colon and not any higher as it would be mixed in the stool as it is only around it.

I have had a colonoscopy done and checked out fine 6 month ago so the *c* word has to be out of the querstion in reality, but what could possibly causing this?

I see the specialist again on the 26th but i am so freaking out atm.

It might be hemorrhoids--that was the problem when my husband had the same symptoms. Anything that causes a strain in that area, like constipation or diarrhea, can make them worse.

Have they ever told you that you have piles and/or a fissure?

Thanks for the replys.

Nope never told that i had either, i went back to the doctor who refered me back to the specialist.

The doctor told me not to worry as it with was anything serious it would have been piucked up on the original scope.

However i find it strange that i can have a normal looking stool for days, but if i pass alot like i am need to go quickly they is always blood on it and blood there after.

Can you get a fissure/hemm so high up in the colon?

You can have hemorrhoids internally as well as externally. Of course, that might not be what is causing your symptoms, but at least you know it is nothing serious :)

Well i thought i would keep you updated, i went to see the sepicalist today and he explained that my colonoscopy was all clear and the biopsys came back clear.

He said that he would do a small scope test and see if i had any fissures/hemms and if so he could band them off but they normally bleed for a week he said.

So he checked my outside of my bottom everything was fine then done the small camera test and found some small hemms internally and said he was most certain that was where the bleeding was coming from, he asked if i wanted them banding i said no they are fine atm as long as i know where the blood was coming from then i don't mind, he agreed and said alot of people have small ones and as long as they were not botehring me then that was the best course of action.

He has left me a 6 month open appointment (maybes incase they get worse not sure) and sent me on my happy way.

So i am happy that i have a conclusion to it now and can stop worrying about the blood that is there sometimes.

Just my cystoscopy to go to this Monday about the microscopic blood in my urine (which i have had a clear ct scan and ntohing showed) and if i get the all clear after that then finally i can get on with my life again!

It's been a tough 6 months with my colon,liver and kidney/bladder scares...

Glad you got it looked at but bleeding is almost always piles and/or a fissure

You can get the piles injected rather than banded as well

How do you know you have traces of blood in your urine???? do you test yourself and how long have you had it???? and does it show up everytime you have a test???? sorry for all the questions but my hubby has had this for 15months or so and its EVERY time I do the test....he just wont see a doctor:ohmy:

Piles - yep indeed sounds like it !!! My hubby had them and gracious me the blood loss on one occasion was horrendous - we were both scared!

Anyway I would say Trevstan that it is piles and you need not be too worried about it.

Take care

oh im so glad to have read this......my daughter has been suffering again with this problem.....
she saw a female doc who assured me everything was ok and it was due to constipation, but i still asked for some blood tests to put our minds at rest,as she was losing alot of blood with this too....
no piles or fissures could be seen on the outside so there must be some internal ones....
i dont want to put my daughter through any more embarrassment by her having the camera,so just hope the blood results come back ok

Hi
How do you know you have traces of blood in your urine???? do you test yourself and how long have you had it???? and does it show up everytime you have a test????

Doctor found out that i had microscopic blood in my urine about 4-5 month ago repeated the test about 3 time's then sent me off to a urologist, he decided that i should get a ct scan to check that its nothing nasty everything come back fine apart from they found a lump on my liver, another ct scan later found out it was nothing but a simple liver cyst (scared the poo outta me)...

I am sure when i had a medical last time about 7 years ago the nurse found traces of blood in my urine but nothing was taken further.

Anyways i was put on a 3 month waiting list for a cystoscopy as he deems that everything should be fine but he can write a line under it and deem it as unexplained but nothing serious i guess.

However Monday is getting very close and i am not enjoying the thought of a tube going up my you know what. :weep:

hi

I know its hard but I wouldnt worry if the Dr thought it was anything "nasty" you would have been in for the cystoscopy within a few days!!! My hubby's first wife (also my best mate!) found a breast lump, she was at the hospital the very next day! they dont mess around if they think its cancer! Ive also (at times on and off) found small traces of blood my Dr was waorried at all because I had no other symptoms.....SO please dont worry we're all here for you:bighug1:
