any one on here diabetic iv just been put on metrothormin .and i just wanded are they ok

My husband is insulin dependant diabetic. Do you mean you have been put on the drug metformin??? This is the usual first line of treatment drug for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetics. It can upset your stomach a bit at first.

The only warning thing is that very very rarely it can cause suicidal depression, this happened to my husband many years ago when he was given it and he had to come off it after 2 weeks as he was a danger to himself but as I say it is rare but it is mentioned on the info that comes with the tablets so if you start to feel seriously depressed in next few weeks it could be your new drug but its very very unlikely to happen to you.( My husband has been clinically depressed all his life so he had a known risk anway)

Millions of people are on this drug and are quite happy on it.
