I'm new to these boards and I would like to introduce myself.
I've had panic attacks on and off for over 20 years which started one hot summer evening when I was having a meal in a restaurant with my parents. I've had periods of 'remission' when life has been generally good but in the last 6 months it's not been easy.
I'm a professional in my early 40s and in a stressful job. I'm single and live on my own. My previous partner left in me 2 years ago for another woman, after a difficult 8 year relationship. Although I've always been successful at work, I find it hard to make friends and when my partner left me, my social life disappeared overnight as well.
I find it hard to travel far away from home because I get panic attacks when I feel tired and especially when I have to eat anything substantial. Because I don't have a partner or any friends, if I want to go anywhere I have to do so on my own. I feel very vulnerable and always fear yet another attack.
That's about it for now!
