Pinched muscles in centre of back

Hi guys

Does anyone over get muscle cramps or pinched pains in your back?

I've been having extended periods of panic lately (had all the checks etc all good) and I've been carrying a lot of tension in my back over my shoulder blades and in the centre of them etc..... Comes and goes and is more severe when I'm panicking.... Funny that!!! Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this too...

Hi there, when we panic, we use a huge amount of accessory muscles, all over our back and chest, and we usually notice it a day after a big anxiety attack. Also, during panic, blod is pumping around our bodies including our muscles in response to adrenaline......and we also tense up. What you feel is normal, please dont worry.

Thanks Paula.... It's amazing how many places in your back it can hurt, I noticed it when I was meditating too without the panic and I was like wow..... I also had some physio 2 days ago and that could've upset it a bit too etc....

Ah it might be the physio too then, it can often hurt a lot! Try to see it also as a normal part of anxiety (sounds like a contradiction!) NORMAL hahaha.....its all adrenaline, dont worry, I think most people get sore muscles after a panic. Nice to hear you are meditating, stick at it, I hear its good for you! :winks:
