Hi there, my name is Mandy, i'm 25, and i've suffered from panic attacks for around 6 years now. In particular i have health anxieties and severe troubles leaving the house alone. I've been on paroxetine since the beginning, although it enables me to carry on day-to-day, i've not been able to overcome these other problems. In particular i've recently started to seek help as i have 2 young children and feel i'm not giving them the best in life :(

My GP says there's no form of CBT on the NHS so i'm looking for other ways of getting better.:D

Hi,

Welcome to the forum, you will get a lot of good advice here and make some new friends.

I think it depends on the area you live in, but I had CBT for my health anxieties and mine was on the NHS.
Maybe try to look into it further.

Take care

Hi Mandy and welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of help and support here. Just know you're not alone. I'm currently waiting for CBT and that is on the NHS so I would get your GP to double check that.

Take care

Hya Mandy and welcome to the forum.

Yes, certainly challenge the doctor again on this, and wahtever the naswer make sure you get a referral to the Community Mental Health Team.

Meanwhile, take comfort with the understanding people here - that in itself will take the edge of it all.

Take Care,

Ray

Hi Mandy

Welcome to the forum.

There is CBT available on the NHS although there are often long waiting lists. You might also like to consider the No Panic (http://www.nopanic.org.uk/menu.htm) telephone CBT course.

You will find a lot of help and support here.
