I know this sounds really silly but does anyone else get a wheezy chest with panic or anxiety? had it for a couple of weeks and the docs say my chest is clear, dont really suffer with hayfever as someone said it could be that.

Cheers Liz

Hi Liz,

About three weeks ago I got an emotional frustration and immediately got a tight throat - a very common anxiety symptom although somehow I had escaped that up to now.

Following on from that, I have had an irritating cough, a lot of uneven shallow breathing with sometimes what feels like a draft down mny throat. I went to the doctor and she said I had no throat or chest infection. Yes, I have certainly noticed I get these symptoms when I am more stressed or get nervous.

Is there a time when you are more prone to wheezing?

Take Care,

If its really an audible wheeze the you need to get it checked out again . Perhaps you could do with a temporary inhaler.

If its tightness and some shortness of breath then that is probably anxiety and of no consequence.
