can any 1 tell me when upping a snri venlafaxine can it increase your ocd thoughts???

hi guy s on day 6th of upping venlafaxine and my ocd as been through the roof!!!
grrr , i have harm ocd as many of u do , and me head hasnt stopped all day , normally its only this constant with pmt....
i know its bad at the best of times , but wandered if any 1 could offer any input on this as my gp is quite uneducated on this kind of thing!! bless him shame he s a nice bloke other wise but he s under the impression that pmt wouldnt make ocd symptoms worse .........BIG WRONG!!


its not only today ad a few days of this being constant too ....

Hi Pet, I would say probably yes - Before I started back on paroxetine (an SSRI) about 8 weeks ago I had barely any OCD at all, over the weeks it increased massively.

I hope it eases for you, mine is usually highest in the morning (although mine is not harm OCD), but settles during the early afternoon.
