Blood tests

Have just received a letter from my surgery saying the Path lab at our local hospital has requested a repeat of my blood sample sent to them this Monday. Why would they do that? My doc usually contacts me when he gets results of my bloods, but this letter says to make a routine appt for a repeat sample and is signed by the receptionist. Can someone please put my mind at rest . Please help me to understand this. i am worrying.

Hi have you tryed to contact the doctor to ask the reason for this ?? it could be something simple like the blood got contaminated in the labs but im not sure you should worry too much as if there was something seriously wrong as i dont think it would be to make a routine appointment also i think your doc would have been in touch if there was something worng. Sometimes abnormial blood results can happen for no reason then they go back to normal but i think the fact your doc hasnt been in touch is prob a good sign.
