View Full Version : um, what causes black poo?
I hate talking about stuff like this but I heard it can be bleeding in the stomach? I don't have time to go to the doctors before I go away for the week, but do you think it's serious?

Is it black poo or just dark brown?
its brown but with black patches which are getting bigger and bigger :/
Bleeding from stomach and intestines poo smells foul . and very different to usual
food stuff makes our poo change in colour all the time .
Also it is very sticky texture .
You would know .
curry ,beetroot .liquerice allsorts etc .......sometimes it just happens.
dont worry :hugs:

I would go and see the doc and they will probably send a stool sample off for analysis
I'm going on holiday with my partner on Thursday its all booked. Not sure if they will be able to do this before I go? I'm only going for 5 days though.

Ok well if you have had it for weeks then I guess it is ok to go on holiday and sort it when you get back but definitely get it looked at.
I ring them tomorrow and see if they can get me in before but yeah I'll have to wait I guess if they cant
Yes I would get it checked, probably nothing but it will give you peace of mind......you could always get one of those self checks BUT if you do it wrong you'll go on holiday worrying:weep: I notice that if I drink red wine my poo goes quite dark and things like flakes of lettuce, cabbage etc the you dont digest can come out looking like flakes of dark coloured stuff:)

Do you drink guiness? That can cause poo to turn black. I think you have to drink enough of it to do that though.
Just a thought really.
