I had a hot head rush, then felt cold, horrible taste in my mouth and then palpitations, I then felt off for a while afterwards? It happened in the post office in a queue. I am on day 5 of citalopram.

Yes - sounds like a surge of anxiety to me. Unless it's your body adjusting to the medication. If these are symptoms that come and go, it's likely to be anxiety.

It could have been a combination of:
General walking>excerise
Change in air temperature > going from outside to inside
Even the difference in lighting > natural light to fluorescent
Then general waiting anxiety , being still means less distraction and more awareness of your body and anxiety symptoms .

Waiting in line often sets of my anxiety too .
