It is commonly used in some treatments and procedures, but only in safe doses. If you are worried you would need to talk to your doctor about it

Depending on reason for her treatment she will either be allowed to leave same day but has to avoid public transport and young children for af ew days or she will be kept in isolation for a few days until she is no longer giving off radioactivity.

I am ex thryoid advice charity advisor . As I say it all depends on why she is having it - usually its either because of overactive thryoid in which case the dose is lower or thryoid cancer in which case the dose is higher?????

Either was the treatment is needed.
