Blood in Mucus

I just spit up mucus, and it had blood in it.

I am afraid , I am so scared..

I'm afraid of lung cancer, blood clots in the lungs, and I don't know what else.

I don't have a cough or pain, but I am just scared because I've had shortness of breath for a while, and I think it might be casue I never work out.

I am just so scared I don't know what to do :(

I'm seriously scared and I'm afraid Im gonna have heart failure or something.

It's probably worthwhile (for your peace of mind as well as getting checked out) to ring your GP. Its a GOOD sign that you dont have any pain. Try to get to see your GP today and see what s/he says.

Yeah i had this problem for a while and like you i was convinced i had lung cancer. My doctor said this is very rarely a symptom of lung cancer. She said something like only 5% of lung cancer patients experience coughing up blood as a symptom.

If it's just mucus with specs of blood in it i really wouldn't worry. If you're coughing up table spoons of blood by itself then you should be concerned.

Why not have a word with your doctor for your own piece of mind?
