I have a fear of two diseases; ALS and Alzheimer's. I am only 41 and went through a major ALS worry after lots of twitching but I ended up being fine. I then saw an old family friend who has developed dementia and it enhanced my fear of memory loss.
I noticed a week later that I had mixed words up and it made me fear. After ceasing to worry about it it went away, but then I was under so much stress that I noticed other memory issues and lack of concentration which again got better once I stopped worrying about it. I have been excessively inactive (not working and constantly at the computer trying to get my thesis written) so I think my mind is just tired and stressed, but having HA just makes me very conscious of my lower memory right now. In addition after reading symptoms it said something about lack of distance perception. I drove the other day and did not have any issues, but my eyes are tired from the computer and are a bit blurry. I also have a little bit of distorted vision that was first noticed in 2004 after a car accident but the retina specialist said my retinas are healthy (another issue there).
So, today when i was checking each eye I feel that my depth perception, which I psychologically expect to disappear, was non-existent with one eye closed. i know it is reduced with one eye but it seems worse (saying that my eyes are blurry and unclear anyway). Could this just be from eye strain and also willing 2D rather than 3D? Now I keep imagining that my 3D vision is lessened with both eyes.
I hate HA. I cannot concentrate on my work.

In addition if I look through a hole created with my fist it seems clearer and i have heard that is a sign that it is a focus issue and not anything in the brain itself.
I also find my vision improves (not the actual distortion, but in terms of clarity) if I put a hand between my eyes.
