I'm to have my lithium blood levels checked next week. I usually run at 0.75ml lithium in my bloods. I was wondering why the bloods are taken in the morning? Shouldn't the levels be consistent throughout the day? This means that I will have to have my meds at 8.30pm two hours before I normally take them. I have done this before as a 'one off' but am I doing myself damage having my meds two hours too early just to fit in the blood test? Any input will be gratefully received. EJ.

This could be to check your sodium levels in your blood, prior to eating. Dont worry about it. your be fine.:)

I thought the blood were taken exactly twelve hours after the last dose to get the highest concentration of lithium in the blood. I don'r think sodium levels are checked. Usually it is lithium, thyroid and electrolytes. EJ
