heart anxiety and sleep

ok so, i was just nodding off, probably thinking about things a little too much... im on lexapro 15mg... and all of a sudden i got like a heart sqeeze , like a THUD then two hard like after beats... freaked me out a little but calmed myself down which wasnt that hard considering how tired i am! ugh :( help lol

That happens to me from time to time. I think it is gas moving around in our bodies from the different position. Sometimes, it feels like mine is skipping beats.

I get ectopic ( missed) hearbeats every single night about 10 mins after I go to bed as I relax, this happens when your heart slows down ready for sleep. They can feel horrible but they are harmless. Like having a twitch in your eyelid.

Hi Pablo,

I know it's an awful feeling but I think we're more sensitive to noticing them - apparently they're very common. Mention them to your GP next time but, in the meantime, try to ignore them.
