Stabbing head pain which lasted only a few seconds?

I was sitting playing with my boys when I had a shrt stabbing head pain but it only lasted 5 secs at the most. This has my HA sky high again, but resisting Mr Google.

These are harmless, I believe they are called "Ice Pick Headaches" or something along those lines. I get them from time to time. They are frightening because they can be quite painful but very brief.

i get this alot hun its quite alarmin! and deffo gets my heart racin i get it in my temples alot too xx

I googled ice pick and am relieved by what it says.

Sherylee - how are your head concerns now? Mine is still the same. Started keeping a headache diary and going back to GP tomorrow.

Yeah, I googled it first before writing anything to make sure there was nothing scary out there :) but everything says harmless, just a pain in the rear. Also, more common in people who tend to get headaches already anyway. Also annoying because they are so quick that it is pointless to take ibuprofin or something.
