hi im new to this whole anxiety thing . i hate it . it all started 5 months ago i was the happiest person not a care in the world until one day i was in uni in a lecture and my heart did this wierd thing it felt like it had stopped for a second then started agen i dont know wha happened i later learned that it was apanic attack . since then things have gone from bad to worse to ok . i started getting these palpitations every day n was convinced i had a yet undiagnosed heart problem . i was a regular at the nhs walk in centres and accident and emergency . ive had 8 ecgs, 1 chest xray. 1 24hr heart monitor and 8 lots of blood tests all negative . at one point bout two weeks ago i couldnt even go outside the door i had to move into my nans house coz i couldnt be on my own . i seen a psychiatrist who put me on 20mg of prozac and 10mg of propanalol . this has helped alot and i am able to back to uni now but i still constantly worry that i have a very serious health problem . just want someone to talk to who is goin through the same

hiya kaley

you will talk to many of people on this site who go through everything you are fearing every day and i am one of them and it happened as suddenely as yours seemed to

firstly know that you are not alone
get yourself a copy of claire weekes book self help for your nerves which i promise will explain alot

know that if you had a heart complaint it surely would have been picked up now. sounds like you had a harmless ectopic beat usually due to alcohol, too much caffene, or period of anxiety, this has freaked you and made you afraid hench the palpitations and all the fear that goes with that

you will be fine and just hollar if you need an ear, this is a horrible fear and you are not alone

hi kayley,
i have only been suffering with panic attack and anxiety since last dec. i'm much the same as you. when i had my first i was convinced i was having a heart attack, and had all the tests and bloods done too which all came back normal.
i worry that i too have a serious health problem and am now currently seeing a councilor, and hopefully i can find out what triggers my attacks.
i have found this site to be a great help as there is always someone who can help and guide you.

we are not alone and i have found that there is always someone on here i can turn to for help and advice.

i wish u well and if u need an ear like jackie says just holler.

all the best

Hi Kayley and welcome. I know it is hard but try not to worry. They would have picked up anything that was wrong.

Take care

Welcome Kayley,

I too have been to A & E three times. It does take a lot of convincing to accept that these symptoms are anxiety ones. As Jackie says, Calire Weekes books give you ressurance as does this site with members experiences.

But don't feel bad about visiting your GP for reassurance.

Take Care,
