hi everyone,

although i'm not taking anything for granted i have some happy news:). panics seem to be subsiding and much more likely at night and first thing in the morning. still can't get more than 2 hours sleep without waking up with the thumping heart but breathing is helping;)
blood pressure seems to be getting lower 146/86 yesterday [8D]. pulse still a little high but i feel so much better in myself - even went and hand a manicure this morning. also got the panic prevention tape yesterday [mindworks] it's straight talking is good.[^]
winding up now towards my wrist man meeting and xray again on friday but hope improvements continue.

sending love to all out there and hoping you too are having a good day,
tess

Glad to hear things are getting a bit better for you.

Things will continue to improve for you , you`ll see. :)

Hi everyone,
well after another bad night [not so heart-pounding though]and three more xrays the wrist doc pronounced that things are going well.:D you can almost feel the but coming by now. yes back next friday for more of the same :(. by then at least he should know if he wants to pin the arm. what a lot of waiting and wondering! The good thing i think is that by then i may be more settled in myself and able to accept the idea of an operation [with a block not GA though]with a lot less fear[^]. and after all he only wants it to mend as well as possible because i am young [:D:D] - i'm 45 but that is young for this type of fracture.
anyway yesterday i faced a few demons and looked up failed intubation on the net. only happens in 1 in 2000 paitents [trust me] and one likely cause is an inexperienced anaesatist [sp]. Something that rings true there.
Well enough from me, thanks for asking Meg and thanks everyone for the support - the last 2 weeks have been much easier thanks to the kind people on this board,

Hiya Tess,

Glad to hear things are going well.

I am sure you will be more comfortable with the idea of having the surgery by next week, as you are doing so well already.

I do hope that the symptoms of your attacks continue to lessen.

I think once your mind is at ease with what exactly is to be done with your wrist your anxiety and such should calm down loads.

Try not to worry to much dear. Your surgery will be a success, and your wrist will heal properly and all things will be as they should be. :)

Remember positive thoughts, rest and little steps will get you to where you need to be.

Also don`t forget we are your personal cheerleaders!!!!!! We are rooting on the sidelines for ya. :-D

Take care dear and keep us updated on things won`t you?

Love to you Tess,

Diana xxxxx

Hi Diana,

Dear Tess,

Glad to hear that you are healing so well and pinning is not necessary.

I guess you can use the rest of your time off to fully rest and catch up with yourself so you will be on top of it all when you do go back.

Hi Meg,
yes and write the girls' reports [V]. Not looking forward to it but I guess it will get me in the swing again. I probably said, but my doc thinks this site is a great idea and how good that we can all support one another in this way. [^]

hi Meg,
no it was my left hand thank goodness:D. My doctor thinks this panic was related to the trauma and also to losing my parents. I'm inclined to agree with him - to be frank i thought i was 'over' that but i'm not really. He was complimentry about the site and the level of support we can give one another [^].
hope you are having a good day,
love Tess

Hi everyone,
well the plaster came off this morning:). However, all felt very odd and went very panicky when I saw my arm [looks very odd and still swollen]. Then the specialist told me I'll only ever get about 80% of the movement back in my wrist - but it's not a problem [well it might not be to him but I'm gutted]. Anyway felt very tearful [but managed not to cry] as he told me the swelling will takes months to go down, be at least another 3 weeks before i can go back to work etc.:(. I suppose I've just got to be glad i didn't need a pin in it:)

Well anyway I think i'm more together than i was this morning and after a spray of rescue remedy am determined not to get too down or i'll have the panic monster back[V].

love Tess xx

......and look what they told Christopher Reeves . He's covering himself .

He may be right but with dedicated exercises and physio he may be wrong .. You prove him wrong. Do not limit your progress by expecting him to be right .

Elevate - get some gentle sweeping massage strokes on it , some vit E cream for the scars some rescue remedy cream for all of it and you'll be just great.

Hiya Tess,

So happy to hear the plaster is finally off. ;)

Sorry that you were feeling a bit weepy and a bit odd though.

Hey the worst part is over ey????

You can get that arm practically back to new again dear, I know you can. ;)

True it will take time, but hey you have all the time in the world to invest in you, right?????

Things will be fine sweetie, don`t let this oddness get you down.

This is all fixable. Nothing that you can`t work with okay????

Just go and have a lovely time on holiday. Rest, relax and have fun!!!!!!!

You have certainly earned this dear.

Keep ya chin up deary. :-D

Post to let us know how the holiday goes.

Take care and remember FUN,FUN, and more FUN. ;)

Loadsa Love your way.

Thanks guys,
your support, as always is wonderful[^]. I feel a bit better tonight and already I have a bit more movement than I did this morning. I've also come to accept that if I can only get back for the last week of term then so what[?]. I got a bit upset yesterday because the headteacher said the school governors will probably want a second opinion! When I told my specialist he gave a look I can tell you. If he says 3 weeks more then 3 weeks more it is they will have to lump it. I can do without any extra pressure now my BP has come down[:p].

Oh I'm getting assertive too guys [^]
anyway hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you are doing - I'll be fine as long as I don't look at the arm without my support on - I'm sure it belongs to some alien[:o)]

lots of love

Tess,

Great Attitude!!!!!!

Well done you. :)

Glad that you are feeling a bit better tonight, and that you already have more movement in your "ALIEN" arm than earlier today. :)

You have a great weekend dear.

I`ll do my best to enjoy mine, though I of course will 'NOT' be in Swanage, but I`ll be there with you in spirit. :)

Don`t worry about that "ALIEN" arm it will recover just fine. You`ll see. ;)

hi everyone,

just got back from Swanage. Had a lovely time and anxiety levels relativly low. Getting over the shock of the alien arm [:I]. Can now look at it without feeling sick! More movement in it already and phsio starts tomorrow afternoon. Took my rescue remedy with me and used it a few times but otherwise did well.

Now getting ready for more reflexology this evening. Hope everyone is okay and not too hot,

Yes, thanks Meg - was I a worry last Friday or what? Now as I see the improvements day by day I'm a much happier bunny. Also sorted out when I go back to work which isn't until 5th July now. That gives me just 8 school days until we break up for the summer and then plenty of time to recover further.

thanks for all the help,
