im just curious about mediations. anyone that is on meds, how did they effect you? did they help your symptoms? especially if youre one of the people that felt lightheaded 24/7 all the time. how did the meds make you feel? anything negative effects?

Sorry but I was on Prozac and it didn't help atall with the light headed feeling for me atall.

do you still get the lightheaded feeling all the time? did it eventually go away?

I had it for many years I am afraid but that was because I didn't know how to help it.

Yes it has completely gone now.

Exercise helped me as well

Be careful...meds are likely to produce lightheaded symptoms. I'm taking Citalopram and they cause me to feel faint and dizzy not to mention lose weight and have convulsions.

Personally, I am going to try to avoid meds as a lot of them cause side effects that are equally distressing.

Have you been checked out physically by a doctor? You know, blood tests, ECG etc. As someone with a health anxiety, I always find that knowing that I am physically ok somehow makes it easier to deal with.

I also find exercise helps. I walk everywhere now. A lot of people use vitamins too and natural remedies like rescue remedy.

I do still have anxiety a lot of the time but most of the time now, I can deal with the symptoms. My doctor told me to breathe for 4 seconds in, hold for a few seconds and then breathe for 6 seconds out. That always helps slow down my palpitations.

This site is also a real help. If ever I feel particularly bad, I always know I can log on and speak to someone who really understands how I feel. That is invaluable!!

nomorepanic; I'm not sure if my dizziness is also due to overbreathing, as I've had breathing problems for a long time already, and the dizziness only started 3 months ago. Did you purely have the 'lightheaded' feeling, or did u have a feeling of constant movement and the floor tipping about aswell? How long did it take 2 go after u started breathing correctly?
