wHY IS IT THAT AS SOON AS WE HEAR THE WORDS "heatwave" ON

THE WEATHER AND THEY TELL US IT WILL BE 32 DEGREES TODAY AND

TOMORROW THAT I FEEL REALLY PANICKY?

ITS BAD ENOUGH WHEN ITS ONLY 25 AND I AM BREATHLESS AND EVEN

GOING UPSTAIRS IS TOO MUCH EFFORT - AND I WORK IN ASHOP ON

MY FEET SERVING IN THE HEAT!! phew - HOPE IT DOESNT LAST TOO LONG

SORRY TO SOUND SO DOWN WHEN A LOT OF YOU PROB LOVE THE HEAT!!!

As soon as i hear the word 'heatwave' i start getting dizzy and panicky!!!!

Really dreading next week, i'm on my feet all day as well serving cold pints of beer!!!

Oh yeh this is me too. I HATE the heat. Definitely makes my anx worse. Can't wait for the god damn winter. It's awful cos before my PTSD I loved the hot weather. Now I'm afraid, gimme the rain, cold and snow. Shame really. And I'm absoluely sweatn atm.

So you're not alone on this one.

In recent years I've adopted a Victorian attitude to the sun - i.e. it's not good for you and keep out of it.

In my early twentied when I was young and stupid, I suffered sunstroke and sunburn that dried up my joints after spending all day on a French surfing beach one summer. I never want to experience that again (although the resulting suntan lasted for a year and was quite nice!).

Human beings are not designed to be toasted by the sun - that is why we have houses and indoor spaces to take shelter from it. Have you ever seen Africans and other desert dwellers lying out all day in the sun with no protection? Absolutely not.

Admittedly for those of us with a tendancy to anxiety and panic, extreme temperatures and burning sun can induce symptoms, but we all know the sensible thing to do. Just don't subscribe to Noel Cowards 'mad dogs and Englishmen' theory .

I am permanently looking for shade to sit in when I venture out of the house or office which drives my sun loving acquaintances bananas. But I don't care! Let them make themselves ill if they wish.

Anyway I hear it's going to pour with rain tomorrow. Hooray!!!

same here! i went our today tho about 2.30 to the park!
we stayed in sun for 30 mins and had drinks,hats,sunglasses, no panic today! x

Tee hee - thankyou all for your comments - me too - I walked to work at ten and nearly fainted in a shop which had no air con - they all worried about me when I arrived at work as I was wet, red faced and disorientated - bought myself another desk fan for the shop counter and stayed seated all day today except whenI had to serve customers - makes you feel a wuss except that every single customer complained about the heat too - please please let it rain and cool down - they promise thunderstorms tonight or tomorrow -hope so!!! Already spent 2 days lying indoors to keep away from the heat and humidity!!!!! Love wenjoy xx

I haven't been out since Sunday, just an attempt to sit on balcony, which as I said was to much. I agree with you Purplerain, I would also go to Greenland if I could get there now!!!!!!!

Yep - we had rain all day but its cooler but more humid so air is heavy again - boo hoo - got my ventolin with me everywhere at the moment. Wenjoy x

We had the black sky all afternoon but only a little bit of rain which hasn't cooled things down at all :(

Well ive been praying for some rain to help cool this weather down, the clouds are building up and darkening in the sky but they havnt opened yet!
Maybe we should all do a rain dance! :D

Had a bad panic attack today whilst shopping and the heat just magnified my symptoms!!.......Roll on autumn!
