Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you.

Well here is my story - I am 37 years old and currently living and Teaching in Viet Nam where my panic attacks started nearly 2 years ago. Since then I have been to my friends wedding in Italy and back to Australia searching for a magic cure - all to no avail of course. I have recently returned to Viet Nam with my Husband of 12 years for another 3 months stint. I hate flying and can't believe I have done so much of it in the past 2 years .........all with the help of Ms Valium of course.

I specialise in Health anxiety and in particular fear of high blood pressure - after a high reading after a yoga class once 6 months ago - (prior to that it was always good).........I was taken to Emergency by my patient Husband and the Doctor told me my BP was fine.............but because of the very high reading I now constantly "what if"...... anyway that was in Oz and now I am back in VN any trying to put it out of my mind.

My main symptom is breathlessnes and tight chestness............and it is hot and chaotic here which doesn't help................but on the up side I am trying to focus on how far I have come in 2 years - here I am living in a third world city of 7 million people that is busy, noisy and hot and all with panic disorder............and no ability to speak the language.........and I'm still alive....................so it must be anxiety and not something life threatening.............of course I could have realised that when the blood tests, ecg and chest x-ray came back normal the first time......hahaha

Anyway I would like to conclude by saying a big thank you to all of you - this site has been so comforting to me and made me feel like I am not alone with this horrible torture. It works ten times better than any xanax, valium or bottle of wine in calming me down and making me feel safe.

Thanks again,

Sharon (Wonder Woman wanna be)

Sharon

A warm welcome aboard to you.

With regard to high blood pressure mine was high for 2 years before they decided to put me on medication for it and I suffered no ill side-effects because it was high.
