Woke up this morning and we had dirty water so can't even shower for work. I may have to take the day off.

I cleaned my hands in it once and I'm worried as I touched this keyboard and all the germs and so on.

Not sure I could handle work by not showering. Clothes got done in the dirty water too so I ain't going to be able to use them now as it will make me too anxious.

Youd have to ring the water board to find out whats going on with your water... dont think anyone on here could advise..

I stay with parents so they did it. They said let it run clear and I think it's only in the past hour it eventually has.

Reason I posted here is im suffering anxiety issues like fearing I'm contaminated and anything I've touched after washing my hands in dirty water, and the clothes which got washed in it.

totally understand that Phil, but again without knowing what the mirk in the water is, how can we say yes or no you havent contaminated anything, without knowing if it was a dangerous substance....

Brown water usually means the water contains too much iron, which is not dangerous to drink or use, but it is unappealing. Rusty pipes somewhere colouring the water, I should imagine!

Yes I agree with above post. Unlikely to be anything dangerous to your health despite looking dirty and foul.

Water board would surely advise if it was something harmful to health.

I think it's running clear now so is it ok to shower?

If the water-board haven't said otherwise, and it's still running clear, it'll be fine to shower, yes!

It's probably just something like... the water pressure changed and dislodged some rust at some point which then discoloured the water. Bloody iron oxide.
