Panic attacks while sleeping

Lately every time I try to sleep within seconds of actually sleeping my body begins to panic and I jump up. My heart races and I feel like I can't breath... I don't know what to do about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

i get this sometimes i hate it horrible isnt it i play a game on here or on my phone or put the telly on til i feel more sleepy and a bit more relaxed that usually works :)

Yeah I usually just play apps on my phone, it's terrible going through this :(

it is its like its never ending sometimes its just finding something to distract ourselves with to keep our minds off it but i really hate that were your driftin off to sleep then panic it can last for hours with me sometimes

Yeah, I already fell asleep several times and instantly woke up panicing. I think it's best to just not try to sleep when that happens.

yeah i give up in the end until i feel my eyes start to give in im ok then
