Hi this is a first post so i was wondering does anyone have or have they had any experience with anti-depressants causing focal dystonia in the hands. Reason i ask is i'm a guitar player and through the years i've noticed this getting worse. I read anti-psychotic drugs definitely cause it but i'm sure i also read that anti-depressants can as well? Something to do with the brain neuorons.

The thing is maybe it's nothing to do with that and it would have happened anyway, i don't know. I don't fancy cutting out the drug i take (Escitalopram) on the off chance that it's something to do with it only to find i've made myself ill and for no benefit.

I'd talk it over with my GP but really no one seems to have a clue about dystonia and i don't think he'd know one way or the other.:welcome:
