Perhaps if she is driving, she shouldn't be drinking at all....

It may be legal to drive with some alcohol in your system, but any amount effects judgement and driving ability. Personally when I'm driving I'd rather not have anything that is going to effect the way I drive.

This is worrying. I have a breathaliser and will try it out.

Ok, I am on duloxetine ( cymbalata) 90mg/d.

Drunk a 5% 250ml drink which is 1.4 units. 30mins later - 0.02%. Legal limit 0.08%.

So clearly it doesn't effect everyone.

The bloke in his article did say his daughter either 'drinks loads or nothing at all' - could be she still had alcohol in her system from the night before when she was tested.

I think as well if you tried the experiment a few times, you may find the results are different depending on how quickly the alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream.

Best way to not even have to worry about it is just dont drink any alcohol when you are going to drive, then you know you are safe

Dont forget everyone reacts differently to medication.

When I was on clomipramine I used to feel pretty drunk if I had one or two drinks. I always wondered if this enhanced effect would show up on a breathalyser but certainly never tried putting it to the test. I agree with Mike. The safest thing is to stay away from booze if you're driving. If you're only going to have one, is it too much of a step to just have none?
