Yeah it will pass . Think its to do with your nervous stystem going on high alert, I know its not easy but try to relax

It does eventually go away :) But I know the fear of what if I feel like this for ever.
I got it while shopping today, It was weird I felt disconnected from my body,I was putting items in my cart , it's hard to explain it was almost like I felt light or I didn't really feel the objects I was picking up.Almost like I was playing a video game ....
I tried to ignore it as best I could and thankfully it went away on the walk home.

I get dizzy a lot and to be honest I do think their might be something up with my ears.
If you've a stuffy nose, or a cold or even just plain old anxiety can cause it.

The dizziness I've been getting lately is the one where the ground feels like drops down a few inches while you're walking. It's not very nice and makes me a bit nervous when I'm walking alone.

I get this also alot and I just try to float through it till I feel better if that makes sense? Its an awful feeling but it does pass. The key is to try and not let it take over you and go with it xx

I have a balance disorder I think Ive had it a long time and this triggered my panic attacks not the other way around.
I did see a specialist who told me people with balance disorders are more likely to get panic attacks. Im not saying you have one it could just be anxiety and its making you feel lightheaded etc
I was diagnosed with vestibular problems at a top hospital in London so I kind of know what causes my attacks (dizziness) but I make them worse by panicking about the dizziness etc a vicious circle

Did they prescribe you any meds to help...I had a few balance problems in late 2008....I was very obese at the time...it went away on its own...had a lot of mental health problems this year and last...just seems my symptoms evolve..haven't steeped out of my house in 2 weeks..felling a little house bound...

Bukendaa, the whole depersonalization/derealization thing is awful! I get whole days where I feel like it (not so much now, but back when I was really struggling) and it's totally unpleasant but it DOES pass! Sometimes it's a case of just waiting for it to go away.

I'm interested in this because I had almost overcome my anxiety last year and then I got a virus with labyrinthitis and it triggered my anxiety back, as it caused me to fall over in public so I haven't been out alone since then. My symptoms are different now and I'm sure it's due, in part at least, to an ear issue. I then discovered a book called Phobia Free where the psychiatrist Harold Levinson thinks that 90% of phobic behaviour comes from the inner ear. I can't get any doctor to listen to me though, although they do admit I have fluid in my ears. I'm not sure if that means anything though. Do you take medication for it? I know it's difficult to treat but I think it can be helped?

Having a lot of these same feelings, usually after I sleep I feel... weird is probably the best way to describe it for me. I can't tell if a dream I had actually happened, I feel like I am floating sometimes.

I get that in the mornings some times..usually after a very strange vivid dream...I'm coming of daizapam to..reduced my dose.

Mishel I get exactly the feeling where the ground drops an inch or so. Also feel really lightheaded all the time.

The other day someone said something on the forum that I've been trying over the weekend. I think it was mindful who said it. They said to overcome the dizzyness you have to accept it is anxiety.
I had tried this before by saying it is anxiety but it still kept occuring and making me even more anxious.

I tried what mindful said which was to accept the feelings of dizzyness and not let it bother you. This weekend walking around I accepted I was dizzy and went with it not letting it bother me. Although not completely gone they were greatly reduced and I will definitely continue trying.

I had this when i first started to take panic attacks...

Put something comforting on the tv, get comfortable and just let it pass...the really scary part is always over in a fe mins :) and you will get yourself back to normal..

find a routine that helps you :) I watch will and grace (cheesy and brings back good memories) get under the covers and just let your mind go to other places...dont fight it..just let it pass..
