hi
i was prescribed a peak flow meter from the doctor the other day to record morning and night on a chart for ten days. thing is my reading is not changing from 340. not matter if its morning or night, so i just took it when i felt really bad and this was this afternoon and its still 340. i dont understand. My partner had ago and his was over 600 and then another time his was just under 600 so i know the peak flow meter isnt faulty or anything.
Is this normal?
Also im 24 and 5'5 and on some sites i seen for average peak flow measurements for my age and height and gender are well over 400, my readings along the lines of a 70 year old. Iv never smoked or anything. i dont get that either

can anyone tell me if they have had similar readings please.
thanks

im so worried im going to have a severe asthma attack before i get diagnosed with something, before my next appointment.

My peak flow readings used to vary between 180-400 but I did see a difference in my readings in the morning. Not to sound rude but did the dr show you how to use it properly as my GP was pretty useless with it but our practice has a specialist asthma nurse and she was great at showing me.
Try not to worry yourself too much about it, when are you due back at dr ?
