help citalopram users?

hi all, i stopped taking my citalopram after 5 months after starting to feel myself again but im startiing to get dizziness and like shocks in the front of my head? is this a side effect :(

hi yes it is a withdrawal symptom and not pleasant, have you just stopped, or are you tapering off slowly ?

you should reduce slowly with the help of your gp, to minimise any withdrawal symptoms good luck xxx

Hi,

I've dropped my dose from 20mg to 10mg on Wednesday and have had a few brain zaps so must be a withdrawal symptom other than that though I feel ok. If I were you I wouldn't stop cold turkey you'd be best tapering off slowly to minimise any effects. Hope you feel good again soon.

These are normal withdrawal symptoms. In order to avoid these, it is best to create a managed withdrawal plan with your GP, which helps you taper off the medication gradually, thus easing the stress on your body and reducing these horrible symptoms.
