barium swallow

hello could anyone tell me if a barium swallow would definetly show a hiata(sorry spelling) hernia as i have the symptoms of this and my results came back as mild acid reflux and also would it show anything serious going on

Hi. I had a barium meal and i read that it would show it up but mine didn't, (unless they wernt looking for one) in fact I don't even know what they were looking for. A month later I had a endoscopy and it showed a hiatus hernia. So I don't understand how it didn't show it up

with a barium? i doubt it unless it was quite large and easily spotted on the xray.

i was told i had a minor hernia following 24hr manometry. this was about 3 months after i had an endoscopy camera down there!
