test lymphocytes shows 40

Hello,

Im very anxious. Feeling bad palpitation coz we did a general blood test at work last week. Allmy report came back as normal only with the test result of 40 for lymphocytes ( normal range is 22-40). Ive goggle same as it shows a high figure when u have cancer or viral disease. Has anybody done this test. Please help me:weep:

40 is still within the normal range, and doctors usually do not worry even about more than 40 as long as it's not high above!

It could also be that you have had some viral infection some time ago and the lymphocytes were high, and now they are going down.

Cancer would definitely show a more extreme result!:bighug1:

No i did not had any viral infection. May be i should go the doc. Still this is worrying more & more. Ive a little baby to look after.

But you are still within the normal range, don't forget that!
Each person can have individual variations without having a disease.

My son has very low neutrophiles, for example. The normal range is 2-8 and he is always between 0,8-1,8. The doctors have explained to me that the "normal range values" are pure statistics, a variation does not necessarily mean that something is wrong, if it is not a big alteration of course.:bighug1:
