Hi everyone. I am new to this site/forum, so i hope this is the right place to post!
Does anyone have any tips for preparing for an anxious event/situation/experience?
Not wanting to let my anxiety get in the way of my passion for certain issues (and partly because I am stubborn!), I've organized an event at my school tomorrow (a solidarity rally of sorts for the striking students in Quebec, Canada). Unfortunately I'm not that great at managing my intensifying anxiety as of late, and it has been really building up. I am afraid I will just freeze up tomorrow and go into full panic mode!! But I really want to be as present as possible and actually try to enjoy it, but am not sure how to accomplish this. The notion that I have no idea what to expect (number of people, having police show up, making someone mad, etc) is really doing a number on me!
Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated. I know that if I can successfully manage this situation it will be a big step for me.
Thanks,
April
