Venlafaxine and weight gain?

I was just wondering if it is possible that venlafaxine can cause weight gain? I seem to have put on some weight lately.

I also take another tablet called Flupentixol as a booster tablet, can this be putting on the weight?

Apparently, all the antidepressants are linked with weight gain for many people, and this includes SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics and others. The only one which is supposed to be weight neutral is "Wellbutrin" although I don't think this is used in the uk.

The only one I have found to cause weight gain is Mirtazipine - but was slim on Prozac (15 years).

yep i put weight on taking citalopram, since changing to ven 5 months ago have remained the same....really wish i could lose some tho x
