Hi

I have just watched a film and even though I have been diagnosed with hearing loss in one ear I have after watching a quite stimulating and psychological film started to feel a fullness in my ears like when you are under the bath with your head. I can hear a low frequency hum in my bad ear and I feel light headed. The problem is my mind can imagine the worse which I am sure is adding to the light headed ear full feeling. Now I don't know if to worry and react or to just assume this is all anxiety driven. So I thought I would ask you for advice. I have to say I feel like I may pass out. So typing this is helping as its giving me a focus. Very Strange feeling.

Can anyone advise me.

It's common to have noises in a deaf ear, they come from inside your ear. Also, as ears are the organs of balance, it's likely that if you have an ear problem, you also have a balance problem. Feeling like you might pass out is an anxiety symptom, I often get it.
Having said these things, if your symptoms do not go away after a day or so, it's worth seeing a doctor.

Thanks Cattt

Woke up this morning calmly and the hum and fullness feeling is still there. It feels like after you come in to land on a plane and your ears pop except with a one sided hum. Very strange as I did not notice it while watching the film but as soon as I came out of the room after it had finished I noticed the feeling. I have been suffering with this one ear over the last few years and suffering mild balance issues too. When I discovered that I was losing my hearing I told the doctor who sent me for hearing teats and to see a ENT specialist. He confirmed the hearing loss and sent me for a MRI scan to rule out tumours. Everything was clear. I really don't know where that leaves me. Should I go and book a follow up appointment?? Should I just accept hearing loss and get on with my life? I was never offered a follow up appointment, I just received a letter from the ENT specialist saying it was clear. No offer of a follow up appointment.

I suppose with having HA you just assume the worse and feel every change in my ears and balance and assume you will become unable to stand up and have complete hearing loss. No sure What to do next?

Hi, I have recently been getting that as well , it is a horrible feeling, I have a noise mainly in my left ear it sounds like a vehicle in the distance hum and it feels pressured and almost like they are vibrating its hard to explain, I went to my doctors on Wednesday about it thinking I may have an ear infection but they are both fine :) I had a cold recently and wondered if it was something to do with that as my nose is still a little bit blocked. Ive tried popping my ears and nothing seems to help much but I have noticed that if i dont focus on it so much it tends to feel a bit better. Ive also wondered if my neck muscles are tense maybe could that be causing it , I sometimes feel off balance as well but when i do feel like that usually my shoulders are really tense and the muscles in my legs are very tense and I feel like im going to fall over I am quite bad at the moment with my HA , Hope you feel better soon
