gland under left ear feels swollen

hi guys
can ur glands feel swollen due to anxiety. ive had a lump behind my left ear for years, my gp says its nothing to worry about but, im getting an odd sensation underneath tht feels like its swollen. I know tht the more i focus on it the worse it gets but i cant help it :weep:
anybody else had it please let me know
