Feeling really scared :(

My GP has decided to refer me to a stomach specialist because of all the indigestion problems Ive been having as it can get really bad and interfare with my life and exercise.

I am diagnosed IBS of six years and always had problems with my digestive system right through from indigestion to bowels.

I am now freaking out thinking about a stomach specialist as all of this is really scary for me.

has any of you IBS sufferers been sent through all these scary tests and specialists before?

I think I just need some support and reassurance :(

I've been suffering for the last 6 months with bad acid reflux, indigestion and stomach issues......its been a really stressful time for me and my stomach is the first thing to really play up. It also takes time to heal sometimes. Having the tests will be able to put your mind at rest for good so I would say dont worry about the tests, go for them and this is a great oppotunity to put you anxious mind at rest.

It's good that you're getting things checked out. A few years back I was in the same boat as you. I went to a specialist and had an upper endoscopy and went through all kinds of meds. It was through that process that I was able to get my digestion problems under control. Everything will work out just fine. Keep us posted.

thanks for your support you two. My GP gave me some scary meds in the meantime called ranitidine and really scared to take them. I decided to give them a go anyway.
Yeah it would be good to get a check up I just hate hospitals, specialists and scary tests.

I know I will be ok and thanks heaps. Indigestion sucks.
