View Full Version : How safe is WIFI?

I have read that a wifi device or router is generally safe and, unlike a mobile/cell phone, doesn't leak radiation. However, does anyone know for sure? I fell asleep last night with my ipod touch and woke up with it pressed against my lower back. The ipod had turned to 'sleep' mode but I had left the wifi on. Obviously I wouldn't make a habit of doing this but wondered if it is harmless to my health?
I'm guessing that Apple wouldn't make a device that was dangerous?

Thanks.

I think you have nothing to worry about :)

From what I understand there are to two of radiowave, Ionising and non-Ionising. An example of Ionising would be a microwave and WIFI is non-ionising. The only ones you really need to worry about ionising ones, a microwave has around 100,000 times the radiation of a wifi network but microwaves are built not to let any of that leak.

Bottom line is that you are mostly likely getting as much radiation from your wifi network as you are from your toaster.

hope that helps :)
