Hi there. I'm 28, and was diagnosed with Social Anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress about three years ago. At that point I was circling the drain, but was very lucky to get put in touch with my local CMHT and Mind branch.
CBT, glorious drugs, and general support for over two years helped me turn things around to the point where I was able to work and socialise to a limited extent, which owns.:D

In the last year or so the CMHT was restructured to focus on early intervention, and the local Mind charity had its contract cancelled, effectively cutting the cord. By that point I'd improved enough to be able to hold down an enjoyable job and live somewhat "normally" (whatever that means), and had the momentum to keep things on the straight and narrow.

I still have bad days and bad thoughts. That broken bit of my brain hasn't gone away, and sometimes I feel the urge to talk with other people who probably know exactly what it feels like. Something I've never actually done before.
Hence signing up here!

I also want to finally say something that I've never admitted anywhere else: After years of farting around on the net I still get anxious about making posts on forums! :whistles:

Wow, you had a tough ride, but you seem to be going in the right direction. I hope you get as much from being here as I have. No need to be anxious here, we are all pretty much in the same boat!! Good luck in your journey.
