worried about nasal spray addiction - lol

I have to laugh at myself sometimes.

I have a real bad cold right now and my nose gets so stuffy and nothing helps it but Afrin nasal spray. I started using it yesterday and it works really well but everybody is telling me that I could get addicted to it and shouldn't use it for more than 3 days. Is it safe to use it longer than that if my cold is still sticking around? Anybody use this stuff?

I think that it's safe to use short term but I have heard that it can be addictive my husband used to use it all the time & it became an addiction...
Maybe continue using it while you have your cold ..
