Hi everyone
Bother!
Need some advice please.
I have had health anxiety (mainly about my kids) for some time, and have had a bit of a thing about the melanoma scare.
Anyhow, this weekend (the only sunny one all year) my kids went on a boat without suncream and two of them got burnt. There were no blisters but one of them has peeled. They were very red - one on the arms and one on the shins.
I have always been obsessive about suncream and feel sooo guilty. Fact is though that they are 18 and 14 years old and their dad said that he had offered them the cream and they said they didn't need it.
I now think they are going to die of melanoma
Discussed with husband (dad) who said that everyone gets a sunburn at some time and that they will know next time.
Discussed with friend who said ditto.
But can't stop thinking about it - please help
BTW - keep googling the damn thing and it is all doom and gloom!
Thanks
B

Mostly what you've already thought and others have already said but also that melanoma is very curable in its early stages and anything appearing / changing on the arm or the shin is likely to be picked up on very quickly. I don't think one sunburn of that degree is likely to make much difference though, I'm sure they'll be fine

We never had suncream on as kids and we never got skin cancer.

I am pretty certain they will be fine so please just put a line under it and move on from the worry
