as ive said before, im new to this, ive only recently began getting recurring panic attacks & im just feeling REALLY tired & sick & achey & just down in the dumps V_V

wondering, what relaxes you during a panic attack or even just when you're feeling run down from what you've been experiencing?

would a nice, slow walk by yourself help at all? any other idea's?

:hugs:

they will pass. Try walking, yes, its really theraputic. Do u exercise? that can really help. It releases endorphines that create a natural high, which helps regain confidence, also hot baths, nice music, candles all that kinda stuff. When ur having an attack, the best thing to do is sit, and if u can put your head between your knees and take deep slow breaths. A panic attack is a person overbreathing, so if you breathe in then breathe out while counting to 5 this will help u take control of your breathing pattern again. However bad u feel, you are not going to die,its impossible for a person having a panic attack to die. hope u feel better soon

I'd love to spend more time by the sea, I think that's so helpful. Being around nature is amazing, but especially hearing the waves lapping, and I'm a huge believer that salt water is very healing :)

If you are in Kent, Essex or Herts PM me and we can try to get a few people together to meet and go out :)

Sorry, I've just read your post again megan. There is little for me that helps when I am in full-blown panic. The only thing apart from my CBT training (which was brilliant) is 'mindfulness' - please google it!

I have found walking to be very helpful when ive been getting overwhelmed with thoughts, definately seems to helps to distract my mind from too much going on

no i don't excercise, ive kinda stopped seeing all my friends as well, so i'm always just sat in my room V_V i basically sit on my arse all day V_V

n i found last night the attack was over way faster, as i done belly breathing (breathing from diaphragm) and i found it helped...

n thanks ;C i feel worn out n seem to have headaches atm ;C

thanks for the post! :hugs:

n yeah, seeing as i've isolated myself from everyone at the moment (it's a long stressful story to explain, but i have good reasons And soon i will benefit from it), i think i may try to go out for a short slow relaxed walk somewhere ><

also i always tend to think EVERYONE'S watching n thinking bad things of me when i'm out by myself so i'm not sure if doing this would maybe set me off worse ;l

Walking is a god send to me. Nothing better than some good tunes on my ipod and just walking and walking. It gets my heart rate up, I feel healthier and therefore more confident. Also I'll either run a bath and read a book or put a funny film/programme on to completely divert my attention. It all works!
