electric shock feeling

Just wondered if anybody gets and electric shock feeling. It starts in my stomach and goes down my legs. Only lasts a few seconds and it sometimes wakes me up in the night.
I read about zaps in the brain. Does it happen elsewhere?

For me it always seemed to radiate from the head - it was a big problem when weaning down on an SSRI - not sure re other meds

Hi Brandy,

Do a web search on "hypnic jerk". They're mostly normal, but can be related to medications, anxiety and so on.

THanks - I did a search. Its not a jerk more like a shock feeling trickling down my legs. I wonder if it is adrenaline or something

I went through a spell off getting this on my face and upper body, only after I did any sort of activity. But disappeared, probably because I forgot about it and focused on a different symptom!

I only get it occaisionally. Just wondered what it was. Seems like its another anxiety symptom :)
