Blown up balloon feeling in left rib is back!

I get this horrible feeling like I have a football wedged in my upper left rib it's awful. Had a endo and colonoscopy last year and scared the missed something. It can stay for wks at a time!! I dont know if it's my stomach that feels so bloŵn up or my bowel but it's upper left side! Not eating seems to make it worse?!?

I get similar to this too. There are two bends in the large bowel, quite high up in the abdomen, (see pic on link ) you are describing the splenic flexure (the other side is called the hepatic flexure) which can feel very painful and go into your armpit. Mine also feels worse when lying down. Often when I sit up or walk around, I burp and that relieves some of the discomfort. I used to get it on the left, now I get it on the right. My GP thinks IBS or maybe even muscular. I gave had a chest xray, bloodwork and an upper Abdo Ultrasound Scan. All were clear. http://www.doereport.com/imagescooked/71659W.jpg

I still don't know exactly what causes it only that I have had it on and off for years now. I suppose if it was serious it would have shown up on the tests or got worse. Anxiety can effect pretty much your whole body. (Believe me, I know) But I also know I got it to back off to normal levels before and I can do it again. X
