No sex drive?

Hi peeps, since becoming ill and being on different drugs my sex drive has gone? im currently on Venlafaxine and its getting me pretty down as ive gone completely opposite to how i used to be in the bedroom department.

Any advise or views? ta

How long have you been taking it for? In some instances a loss of libido gets better after a couple of months of the medication.

Only been on them about 10 days, i have had a rough few months so maybe its the last thing my body wants at the moment..lol

I'd think things will improve then - maybe not as good as it would have been if you'd not been on medication though. I had a big loss in my libido on prozac, thankfully its coming back slowly, though its not as strong as it was when I wasn't on anything. I guess its a trade off really!

I did speak to my doctor about it, and she said it will get better in time, or atleast improve! :)

I spoke too soon...my libido is definitely shot...and its really hard to orgasm.

I dunno what to do really as its working well for my 'pure o' - I'm tempted to try halfing my dose and seeing if I can find a trade-off...I dunno if the doc could give me anything for it though before I decide on such a course of action?

Mine varies week to week. It's often quite difficult to ejaculate and although it steadily seems to be getting better I had previously been experiencing an inability to orgasm when I do ejaculate.

My libido has always been very low, which I suppose is probably down to the fact that my GED started in my early teens and affected that for the worse. Now I'm on Citalopram my GED is gone but the drug affects my libido. So it's not really much of a change for me.

If it's a major problem I'd seriously consider your options. I'm pretty sure Citalopram can affect your libido considerably beyond the time it takes to flush it out of your system.
